Role Summary:

The Asset Protection Investigator assists in monitoring the workplace through patrols, cameras or other surveillance methods for safety and access issues. They will also collect, process, and maintain evidence collected during an investigation. Finally, they will participate in preparing written reports and may perform security audits.

Role Description:

  • Investigate MNR’s (Merchandise not Received) Emails and Google Doc sheet from India Team & request from Customer Service

  • Investigate IRR’s (Irregular Returns Receive) Emails and Google Doc sheet from India Team

  • Investigate RNR’s (Returns not Received) Emails and Google Doc sheet from India Team

  • Investigate Packing Status Orders Emails from Operations

  • Investigate Chargebacks

  • Man the Metal Detectors

  • Man the HR Lobby during Hiring Events for 8 hours

  • Be available to HR during Terminations in the case an associate is aggressive or upset

  • Review each associate accident / incident and provide video to HR and Safety Manager

  • Check in and out trucks at the Drivers Gate

  • Verify outgoing seals from receiving dock and Outbound trailers at gate

  • Fire Walk when Fire system is not working properly

  • Update AP Communication board - Returns/ Transfers Jewelry Escort to the jewelry room

  • Escort ICQA during replenishing the safe with jewelry items

  • Pull jewelry items from the safe with ICQA for Orders, Transfers and RTV’s

  • Jewelry Safe Audit with ICQA

  • Swiss Log Rack Audits

  • Investigate cause of Rack shortages following AP audits; Monitor Swiss log Clerks and document entry and exit to the Swisslog floor

  • Audit Swisslog clerks to make sure clerks are using the two person rule when entering the floor

  • Respond to any work injury or emergency situation; Ensure all proper paperwork is filled out and submitted for work injuries and emergency situations

  • Conduct internal investigations

  • Review video upon request from Sr. Management and HR for associate issues

  • Compile monthly MNR/ IRR statistics - Complete monthly department audits - Gift Card disposal with Iron Mountain

  • Create badges for new hires

  • Replace lost temp or full time associate badges

  • Conduct orientation with each new temporary associate on their first day

  • Issue Lockers to New Hires

  • Ensure each individual that enters the building has a badge - API’s complete daily recap report

  • Process DIF pallets at the compactor bay

  • Inspect jewelry room trash to ensure no product is inside the trash before emptying from the Jewelry rooms

  • Issue building passes for items that are entering and leaving the building by associates

  • Outbound trailer status report at the end of overnight outbound shift

  • Monitor OBFC Cameras

  • Monitor weather during extreme weather

  • Lock and open the Facility daily Maintain surveillance of the property via CCTV and physical inspections, including perimeter checks.

  • Check inbound and outbound drivers and trailers to maintain yard.

  • Ensure the DC is a safe environment for all.

  • Respond to medical situations and render first aid when needed.

  • Greet associates and visitors on arrival; perform bag checks on departure.

  • Conduct investigations into internal and external theft and shortages.

  • Maintain strong, positive partnerships within the DC associate, management, and Asset Protection teams.

Key Qualifications:

  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Knowledgeable of various systems (ie: CCTV, access control, alarms, etc.)

  • Excellent computer and organizational skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of facility management

  • Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality

  • Must be able to multi-task and follow directions

  • Problem solving skills

  • Effective time management

  • Ability to work in all weather conditions

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Previous retail and/or distribution center Loss Prevention experience preferred

Physical Requirements:
The incumbent is required to possess and sustain physical requirements including but not limited to:

  • Standing for long periods of time (up to 10 hours), lifting up to 30 lbs repeatedly

  • Walking long distances repeatedly, bending, stooping, climbing ladders or stairs repeatedly, manual dexterity of hands to process orders, push or pull or lift up to 50 lbs.
